Christology Reflection (Weeks 4 & 5)
In the Gospels, Jesus referred to himself as the “Son of God” as a declaration of his obedience to his Father’s will. In accordance with his obedience, he fully submitted himself to God so that his mission would be completed. Although he was afraid to go through the trials and suffering in the flesh he was willing to go through the torment because of his submission to his Father. For example, there was a time when he was in Gethsemane, he was tempted not to go through the suffering but he persisted due to his obedience to God.
As followers of Christ, we do not understand God’s will and purpose for us. Many of us often do things our way. We need to learn how to obey God as Jesus did. Whatever we do God must be the centre of our lives. Therefore, as we live in a community we need to learn to accept one another’s suggestions and be submissive to one another because this is the character of God. In so doing, we will be able to practise genuine relationships in community.
Here again a conscious effort is necessary. We will have to learn to accept suggestion from others much as we do not want to. To be humble is the most difficult thing to do in our lives, but that is the way it should be.
“O lord, teach me to submit to and obey Your words and also to listen to my fellow brothers.”
“O lord, teach me to submit to and obey Your words and also to listen to my fellow brothers.”

Although there are times God seems to be silent, there are times we DO KNOW THE WILL AND PURPOSE OF GOD in our lives.it is not that we DO NOT KNOW AT ALL TIMES. Yes there are times we do things in our ways. Ya, Keep it up.
